ZuZu Luxe from Gabriel Cosmetics | Oil-Free Liquid Foundation Swatches (Full-Line)

ZuZu Luxe Oil Free Liquid Foundation ZuZu Luxe from Gabriel Cosmetics | Oil Free Liquid Foundation Swatches (Full Line)

Cruelty-free foundations. It’s the topic I get most questions about and traffic from. As a foundation fanatic, I’m always excited to share my recommendations. But of course one of the most crucial factors in selecting a foundation is color match. And many Leaping Bunny certified brands simply aren’t widely available in stores, which can make determining your correct shade difficult.

To help, I’m posting swatches of the full color ranges of five cruelty-free foundations: ZuZu Luxe Oil-Free Liquid, FACE Atelier Ultra, 100% Pure Healthy Skin SPF 20, Mineral Fusion, and Gabriel Cosmetics Moisturizing Liquid. All the foundations are Leaping Bunny certified and sold at White Rabbit Beauty. This is something I’ve wanted to do forever. I am so grateful to Jean at White Rabbit Beauty, who made this possible!

The first range I have for you is the ZuZu Luxe Oil-Free Liquid Foundation ($29.75). Zuzu Luxe is a line from Gabriel Cosmetics. It’s Leaping Bunny-certified, gluten-free, and vegan.

Color descriptions:

  • L-3: Light/Ivory skin – Neutral undertone
  • L-6: Light/Ivory skin – Neutral/yellow undertone
  • L-8: Light/Medium skin – Pink undertone
  • L-11: Light/Medium skin – Neutral undertone
  • L-14: Medium skin – Neutral undertone
  • L-16: Medium skin – Neutral/pink undertone
  • L-19: Medium/Dark skin – Neutral/yellow undertone with hint of green
  • L-21: Dark skin – Neutral/slightly cocoa undertone
  • L-24: Darkest skin – Neutral/slightly cool undertone

The swatches on the Gabriel website are actually fairly accurate, at least compared to most swatches on retail websites.

Overall, this range runs very pink. I personally don’t have a good color match, though the closest shade for me would be L-6.

Jean sells samples, which is an incredibly useful option. My recommendation is to use these swatches to select a few shades that seem like they might work for you. Order samples of those shades and test them in daylight on your skin.

Aww it’s a pity that the line runs pink! I need yellow in my foundation for it to work, and quite a bit of yellow too ;)

I know, it really is too bad. I think many people will have difficulty finding a shade match (myself included). ♥

Oyy, too bad about the pinkness. My foundation usually needs to run so yellow that it leans green! I think it’s a fairly common thing for natural lines to run pink — the Dr Hauschka tinted moisturisers are also quite pink

The pink tones really are intense, I feel like L-3, L-3, and L-11 could work as blushes on me! I’m warm-toned too and there’s no match for me unfortunately.♥

Aww too bad for the pink, foundation matching is such a tough thing. Thanks for the swatches lovely.

The pink is disappointing! The darker shades seem a bit better than the lighter ones, but I can’t see these shades working for many people ♥

Thanks! I agree, it’s really necessary to try a foundation before purchasing. ♥

Love that they have samples you can order! Makes it SO much easier! Even in a store with a tester it’s hard to find the perfect match.

This is a great idea! Thanks for sharing the shades with us!!! :)

hey im still deciding which to order because since i cannot psychically test it . it helped greatly . id most likely take the L-19 because im yellow undertone and it seems to be only one to be lol, i hope it blends with my complexion.
