Dove is a light grey with powdery light blue tones. While it does read “light blue” in some lights, it is decidedly grey, but far from the dark slates and “greiges” we more often see in polishes. I love Zoya for interesting spins on neutral polishes – shades that are unique yet still have that “goes with everything” quality (another example: my beloved PixieDust Nail Lacquer in Godiva).
The formula is a little thin and a little runny, but despite that, I found application a breeze. Maybe I’m finally getting better at applying neatly (knowing I’ll be posting swatches is a great incentive!), but the exceptionally smooth texture certainly helped.
Dove has been on my nails for five days now without a single chip. I’m testing out Zoya’s Top Coat (which I’ll review shortly), so I applied that to half my nails while the other half went top coat-free. I do think the nails without the top coat have a bit less of a freshly polished look, but the fact they’re chip-free without a top coat definitely impressives.
