EMANI Mineral Crushed Color Dust in Safari
A medium reddish brown with gold shimmer. Safari combines three decidedly fall colors in its multidimensional finish. It’s packed with pigment and sparkle. As is the case with most loose shadows, it can be a little messy, and given the shimmer content, I recommend applying this before your base makeup so you can cleanup any fallout. I received this as part of the Emani How 2B Guide in Day Diva (my full review here).
NYX Antique Gold
A tarnished gold with olive tones. Antique Gold is a year-round favorite of mine, but feels particularly well-suited for fall. It’s surprisingly light on the lids, in part due to its high-shine finish. The texture is exceptionally buttery smooth and soft – so soft that it requires a light hand to avoid crumbling. If you like MAC Patina and are looking for a cruelty-free option, try this.
URBAN DECAY Smog
A not-too-dark bronze with gold shimmer. It’s what I’d call a “classic bronze” – not to warm, not too cool. When we decided on this topic, Smog was one of the first shadows to come into my head. While bronze is often associated with summer, I find the mix of brown and gold very fall-esque as well. Between the top-notch texture and beautiful, versatile color, it’s easy to see why Smog is among UD’s most popular eyeshadows. My Smog is in the original Naked palette, but it’s also available separately.
NYX Golden
A rich copper. Like Anique Gold, Golden has a high-shine, almost metallic finish. Orange shadows can be tricky, but they can also be gorgeous with the right technique/application. Personally, I find moderation is the key to making orange-y hues work for me. It just requires a little experimentation to find what works best for you. I purchased this shade in the Golden/Rust/Walnut Bronze trio (all three shades are beautiful for fall).
INGLOT 326
A deep grey-brown with hints of purple. To balance out all these warm, rich shimmers, I’m including this cool, plummy matte. I’ve actually purchased this shadow twice on separate occasions, not realizing I already owned it. It has Inglot’s typical matte shadow formula – pigmented, slightly powdery, and smooth.
