Winter weather takes its toll on our hair and skin, leaving most of us in need of extra hydration. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter and Olive Oil conditioners can give your hair that much-needed moisture boost. While I use these conditioners year-round as a once or twice weekly deep conditioning treatment, I’ve been reaching for them almost exclusively since temperatures dropped.
I use these both as a regular conditioner and more like a hair masque. After shampooing, I cover my hair with the conditioner, starting from the ends up to a few inches away from the roots. Then I brush through my hair (gently – wet hair is especially prone to breakage) and leave it in for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it out. No matter the state of my hair, this leaves it feeling silky. You could leave it on as long as you want – the more time it’s on your hair, the more frizz-fighting moisture it can provide.
These are super effective conditioners for anyone with dry hair. They’re also ideal for re-hydrating hair after its been subjected to any harsh treatments, like dyes and chemical relaxers.
The Cocoa Butter formula is light brown and smells like chocolate and mint. The Olive Oil has a different scent, I can’t really identify it as anything in particular, but it’s not bad. Like Palmer’s Olive Oil Hair Milk, the product is green. The colors and scents don’t affect the performance – as far as I can tell, these both perform equally well.
