*Company no longer cruelty-free. Included for comparison only.

Owned by animal testing parent company, but had signed an agreement with PETA to remain cruelty-free. Christine from Makeup Guinea Pig noticed that recently OPI was removed from PETA’s cruelty-free list, so their status is not clear. I personally won’t be purchasing any more OPI until I get clarification that their agreement with PETA still stands.

What are your favorite nude and pinks?

  • Lily

I love these nude nail colours. I’m gravitating towards the 3 OPI shades. They look gorgeous :-)

    • Catherine

They really are! I actually purchased Samoan Sand twice, not realizing I already had it… so clearly I’m pretty into that shade ;) Knockwurst is opaque unlike many light pinks and Mimosas is super easy to work with, it just applies so nicely ♥

  • Catherine

Coty isn’t cruelty-free, but I continue to support OPI because they’ve remained cruelty-free despite their parent company’s methods. To me, it’s important to differentiate between brands like OPI who ensure their products aren’t tested on animals vs those that adopt their parent company’s methods. ♥

    • Voodoo_Blonde

Oh OK, I don’t usually buy from brands that have anything to do with testing, like Burt’s Bees and OPI, but since it’s a personal choice what to buy, I support your decision. Cheers ;)

    • Christine

OPI was recently removed from PETA’s list, though I don’t know why. If I had to guess, OPI is selling in China now. It seems like a brand that would love to join that market. This is all just me speculating, so I don’t if they’re still cruelty-free or not.

      • Catherine

Thanks for the heads up, Christine! I know they had a written agreement with PETA assuring they were still cruelty-free, so something must have changed for them to be removed. I’ll contact PETA and find out! ♥

  • Bree

#14 is my favourite, Fiji is such a beautiful colour (and place of course haha! )

    • Catherine

Fiji is a beautiful color but such a pain to work with. I’m always on the lookout for a similar shade from a different brand ♥

  • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Inglot 718 is my favorite out of the bunch! My favorite nude polishes are Dior Incognito and Chanel Frenzy, if a light gray could count as a nude!

    • Catherine

It totally counts! Recently I’ve been getting into more taupe-grey nudes… It’s funny because for years I didn’t really like them and gravitated toward white-pinky nudes, but I have a new found infatuation with them. Do you know any other good taupe-y grey-y nudes, Sunny? ♥

      • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hmm not really! I’m not big on nudes, so I don’t collect them. If you were to ask me what great purple nail polishes are out there, it’d be a different story LOL

  • Martha

Zoya Ava looks pretty! I love Zoya!

    • Catherine

Me too! Ava is really pretty. The subtle shimmer effect is a little unique and super flattering ♥

  • MyLuciteDreams

I love this wheel! So many gorgeous shades! I love Opi Samoan Sand. Zoya is a brand I would love to further discover although I never see them in person.

    • Catherine

I never see Zoya in person either. As much as I appreciate their extensive color range, it can be difficult to pick colors online. Luckily I most of the shades I’ve been interested in have swatches on blogs. Samoan Sand is a beautiful one, one of my favorites.♥

  • Kiss & Make-up

So many lovely shades you got! I love them all.

    • Catherine

      Me too! ;) Thanks! ♥

  • Christine

I love the Inglot 718! So pretty! I haven’t tried their polishes yet. It’s on my “to do” list! :)

  • Sundal

recently bought revlon gray suede, it’s a warm nude, great for my asian skin tone. Although i believe there was a showdown at their recent shareholder meeting involving PeTA? Apparently they’ve been a bit naughty and been selling in china…
