I’ve been itching to try Jouer since I first learned of them about a year ago. Once the brand confirmed that they do not test on animals or sell where animal testing is required, I placed an order. Deciding what to try was a no-brainer – I immediately zeroed in on the Instant Chic Collection. The colors and textures – it’s almost like I put this kit together myself. It includes the Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Starfish, Powder Eyeshadow in Peach, Tint in Fawn, and Mineral Powder Bronzer in Suntan.
“For a look that’s chic AND effortless, Jouer has your go-to palette. For all those in-a-pinch moments, I tailored a collection with THE bare basics. It truly captures a style that’s simple, clean, yet always chic.”

I believe it was Becca at The Beauty Sample who called Jouer’s packaging an upgraded version of Laura Mercier’s. The dark brown compacts snap or slide together for maximum portability. I personally haven’t been connecting them, but it’s a nice touch and could come in handy when traveling.
The Mineral Powder Bronzer in Suntan is a flattering warm brown. It’s light enough that I can dust it on with a fluffy brush for all-over warmth or build it up to contour. Becca at The Beauty Sample has an in-depth review.
The Tint in Fawn is a gorgeous rosy coral. The silky, creamy texture has surprisingly good pigmentation. It works on cheeks and lips. I’m obsessed with it as a lip color – it’s the perfect warm nude for me, which it’s so impossibly difficult to find.
The Powder Eyeshadow in Peach is a peachy pink with the tiniest bit of golden shimmer. The finish has a satin-y or velvet-y quality, which I absolutely love. It’s a not-flat flattering finish with all the sophistication of a matte.
The Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Starfish is a light natural pink with lots and lots of fine gold shimmer. I think this is a shade that would flatter many people. The formula feels lovely on the lips – hydrating, light, and non-sticky. On its own, Starfish gives my lips a subtle yet fresh pinky color and the shimmer lends itself to a healthy, plush-looking finish.
The Instant Chic Collection has been on my vanity in daily use since its arrival. I’m very tempted to pick up another Jouer set. The price is steep, but they’re a great value compared to buying the items separately. And frankly, I’m really just that impressed with these products.
