I received the FLOWER Beauty Lash Knockout Volumizing Mascara ($6.98) months ago, but wanted to use up my open mascaras before starting on this. Now, after thorough testing, I’m happy to add this to my shortlist of great cruelty-free, affordable mascaras.
What I love about the Lash Knockout Volumizing Mascara is how buildable it is. You can layer up to nearly false-lash-level thickness and length. But you can also wear one or two coats for a more natural effect. The formula is very prone to smudging during application – it’s more of a wet formula, although it doesn’t feel that way on the lashes. It’s a good idea to wipe excess off the wand before applying. Once it’s applied and dried, it stays put. I’ve also found that it holds a curl well. Removal is easy with a gentle cleanser or whatever makeup remover you favor.
The one drawback is limited availability – Walmart is the only retailer of FLOWER Beauty. But overall I recommend this mascara. It performs well and the price is right for a product you use up in 3 months. I would definitely repurchase, if I didn’t have tons of other mascaras waiting en queue.
