10 Things for Spring | What I’m Loving Currently

Things for Spring 2014 10 Things for Spring | What Im Loving Currently

Last spring, I did a 10 Things for Spring post. With the early days of spring upon us again, I decided to add a second installment (may I just say how exciting it is that this blog is old enough for once-annual series?)

1. FLOWER Beauty Eyes on the Prize Eyeshadow Chubby in Daffodil With It

The market is beyond saturated with stick-style eye and lip products – but that doesn’t make them any less irresistible to me! This FLOWER shadow gives a sheer, peachy-pink sheen to the lids. Its creamy texture isn’t exactly long-wearing on the lids, but it stays fairly well on the inner corner, where I’ve been applying it almost daily. It just gives such a fresh, eye-brightening dewey effect and takes half a second to apply.

2. TARINA TARANTINO Eye Dream Hyperliner in Puppeteer

With the abundance of brilliant liners at budget-friendly price points, I’m typically not one for higher end liners. But after Christine at Temptalia named the Hyperliners as her favorite liner multiple times, I had to check them out. These really are unique liners and I’ve found everything that Christine raved about them to be true. Incredibly smooth and creamy, yet with staying power you wouldn’t believe. Puppeteer is a gorgeous bronze that’s not too light and not too dark, making it perfect for adding definition to the bottom waterline without the harshness of black.

3. Fresh, Natural Pink Lippies like BARE MINERALS Marvelous Moxie Gloss in Hot Shot

This one is less about the specific product and more about the color. I love the complexion-brightening effect of neutral-to-cool mid-tone pink balms and glosses, especially for spring. They just look so plush and healthy. The Marvelous Moxie Gloss in Hot Shot fits the bill, though it does cause a tingly “plumping” sensation (which personally I could take or leave). Other lovely options are the NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige (my review) and the Josie Maran Natural Volume Lip Gloss in Precious.

4. BECCA Bronzing Skin Perfector

A sister of the iconic Shimmering Skin Perfecor, BECCA’s Bronzing Skin Perfector imparts a similarly luminous effect but in bronze. It’s beautiful placed strategically along the tops of the cheek bones and even as a quick wash over the lids. It’s sparklier than the Shimmering Skin Perfectors, so I prefer a light hand.

If you saw my review, it will come as no surprise that I’m still loving the Osmia Organics glosses. Effortless hydrating color in a convenient squeeze tube that I can carry in my bag – aka, just a perfect tinted balm-gloss hybrid.

6. HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion

What recent “loving currently” list could be complete without an appearance from the Ambient Lighting Blushes? Dim Infusion is a gorgeous light coral with a healthy dose of pinky-peach. For those in the light-medium skin tone range, I’d say it’s as close to universally flattering as a blush can get.

7. ZOYA Nail Lacquer in Sabrina

A pretty light white-pink that goes on semi-sheer and gets nearly full opacity in three coats (for swatches: my Light Pink & Nude Polish Wheel and 5 New Products I’m Loving ft Zoya Sabrina).

8. FLOWER Beauty Nail’d It Nail Lacquer in Make My Daylilly

Make My Daylilly is a light taupe-y neutral with creamy pink and beige tones. Two coats yields a fully opaque, polished-looking manicure that’s not quite pink or putty.

Makeup artist and fellow cruelty-free blogger Liza of Makeup Matters knows BB Creams (I, a slow converter to the trend, do not). When she recommended the Secret de Maquilleurs Voile Illuminateur de Teint SPF 20 by iconic French brand Embryolisse, I immediately placed an order. While I typically wear it under foundation for its skin-beneficial ingredients and SPF, its sheer coverage can absolutely be worn alone (it would be great under a mineral powder for an ultra-natural base).

10. DESERT ESSENCE Coconut Soft Curls Hair Cream

A couple months ago, Martha of QCP mentioned she had good results with the Desert Essence Coconut Curl Cream. Given my love of all things coconut oil and hydrating for hair, not to mention my positive experiences with Desert Essence brand, trying this was a no-brainer. If you like the Palmer’s Coconut Hair Milk (my review) but found it a bit too creamy, this is similar but with a lighter, gel-like consistency (not to mention the divine, beachy scent of coconuts).

Happy spring, everyone! What are you loving this season?

Great picks, Catherine! I am particularly interested in the soft curls hair cream. I will be on the market for a curl-enhancing product soon (running out of my mousse). I should look into that!

Thanks, Sunny! It’s really nice and hydrating. A lot of curl creams I’ve tried are actually drying and this is the opposite ♥

lovely post! Will check some of these out

Thanks, Tianna! Let me know if you do! ♥

I use a BB cream, but started using one after a friend’s suggestion. I really like it, but haven’t had the chance to explore other possible good creams. I will have to look into the Embryolisse BB Cream. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Firstly, congrats on the 1+ years of blogging! :) Secondly, love your picks!!! :) I am ALWAYS tempted by the Marvelous Moxie Gloss in Hot Shot, but never buy it. It looks so pretty! :) I just picked up the Flower Eye Crayon too, but haven’t tried it yet. You’ve inspired me to give it a shot tomorrow. :) They brought out a few new products that look interesting this season – and one of the new eye shadow quads looks so pretty!
